Letter: Thanks goes to hospital
I would like to commend the Los Baños Memorial Hospital for its fantastic service during my recent stay.
During the Fourth of July weekend I became ill. I put off going to the emergency room, hoping I could wait until Monday to see my doctor, as I have previously waited as long as five hours in an emergency room visit.
By Sunday afternoon I was too ill to wait any longer. I arrived at 8 p.m. and I was rushed into an office with a nurse immediately. She made a quick assessment of my vitals and symptoms and had me ready to see the doctor in 15 minutes. The doctor examined me, had tests run and had a diagnoses of pneumonia. I was promptly admitted to the hospital and was in my room by 9:15 p.m.
I cannot begin to express my gratitude for the compassionate concern and the excellent quality of care that I received.
Respiratory therapy was there instantly helping me to breath and there was someone with me throughout the night.
During my five-day stay I met most of the staff on the floor. Everyone of them from the nurses in charge to the certified nursing assistants, lab technicians, respiratory therapist, dietary workers, housekeeping and X-ray were not only efficient and professional but also so very kind. My doctor (Vemireddy) also gave me excellent care. He is a wonderful cardiologist.
The hospital has made many good changes. The emergency room was very efficient, starting with the nurses, technicians and doctors. They made sure every area was covered.
I just wanted to thank everyone who attended to me and to let Los Baños know how blessed we are to have this hospital and its great staff in our community. When you are ill you certainly appreciate good care.
I am sure that many lives are saved in the care of Memorial Hospital Los Baños.
God bless the dedicated people at the Los Baños Memorial.
