2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. NIV

God's grace is a vast and amazing subject. The Bible declares that, "it is by grace you have been saved." The grace of God allows us to proceed beyond our human limitations and become more than we could ever become on our own. God's grace sees our weaknesses and failures and works in us to make them strengths. God's grace not only gets us past our sin and into heaven, it also gets us through each day no matter what that day brings.

God's grace is not only a saving grace, it is a sustaining grace. In this verse in 2 Corinthians, Paul is speaking of his thorn in the flesh and his three requests to God to remove it from him. God's answer is final and explanatory. "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." It is within our weaknesses that God can prove His strength working within us. On the outside, it may look like we are weak and helpless. But on the inside, there is the strength to move heaven and earth.

It has been said that there are no powerful pastors, only God is powerful. Scriptures tell us in more than one place that God wants to display His power in our lives. So when people look at you and see weakness, remember that God's grace is sufficient for you. His power is made perfect in your weakness. Rejoice and be glad in the weaknesses in your life because they insure that God's power will rest upon you.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
