Named after the famous Roman, August is a hot and passionate month; summer at full speed, open wide and ready to be lived fully. Soon enough autumn will come with its the list of holidays and obligations, but now is the time to barbecue, swim, have fun and enjoy today under the golden sun. Bask in it, with sun block of course, and try going barefoot. Feel the cool contrast of grass under your feet; spritz your self with the shock of a cold shower. Brew homemade sun tea, and remember we are all kids in summer.
St. Joseph's Youth Group will hold a rummage sale tomorrow starting at 8 a.m. at 1616 Center Ave. Proceeds from the sale will go toward refurbishing the youth center.
In the Bible there is a story Jesus tells of a King who held a wedding banquet for his son. The story can be found in the Gospel according to Matthew, Chapter 22. The heading for this story in my Bible is entitled "Story of the Great Feast." If you read the story, you will find that the people on the "A List," who had been invited to this dinner refused to come. Jesus tells us they were too busy, to attend the banquet for the King's son. These people were friends and relatives of the King, so as you can imagine the King was hurt by their unwillingness celebrate this important occasion with him.

Lately when you go to a movie it's sometimes hard to tell what is real life and what is animation. The life-like scenery, talking animals, near human robots all make up a fantasy world that sparks our imagination and senses. How often have we seen futuristic books, television shows or movies foretell of things that actually became reality?
