LB National 12-year-olds go 0-2 in tourney
ENTERPRISE STAFF REPORT
TURLOCK -- The Los Baños National 11-year-old All-Star team was facing elimination on Tuesday at Soderquist Park, and head coach Tim Keldsen's boys had built a four-run cushion.
However, the Turlock National 12-year-olds rallied back to eliminate Los Baños, 6-4.
"Isaac Ruiz had a great tournament, and Mark Kinoshita did too," coach Keldsen said. "Chaise Rebelo and Anthony Euley did well, and we played with more heart Tuesday."
Rebelo hit a home run during the District 10 Little League 12-year-old All-Star Tournament opener on Saturday. However, the Los Baños National squad still came up short against the Turlock American East -- the defending tournament champions.
On Tuesday, Luis Luna had a couple of hits during the elimination contest. Euley, Rebelo and Kinoshita all pitched solid as well.
"We were winning 4-0, but in all-stars four runs is not very many," coach Keldsen added. "Turlock (National) hit a three-run home run that gave them a 5-4 lead, and then they made it 6-4.
"We had runners on in every inning, we just couldn't get the key hit.
